29 weeks preggy - Baby's a squash!

Baby Beanie is officially the size of a squash now.

At my last gynae appointment, he was measuring 3 days in advance and was 1.4kg and 35cm. :) Gynae said that everything looks great and I'm pleased to announce that after all my eating and stuffing myself in Singapore, I only gained 2 kg in 5 weeks! That makes my overall weight gain at 8 kg so far. I think that's a pretty good progress.

My next obstacle to overcome is my gestational diabeties test tomorrow. Hmmm. I'm not entirely looking forward to it but its one of the things that I have to do because of my PCOS and insulin resistance. Going to trust and pray that everything will turn out just fine and I do not have to go on a sugar-free diet for the remaining weeks of my pregnancy.

How I feel now?

Well, I've been getting tired more often and easily. Usually I try to sleep on my sides but over the past few nights, I've been so knocked out that I ended up sleeping on my back. This meant that all that extra 8kg of weight was pressed on my back / spine throughout the night! As a result, I end up with the stiffest back ever and have to do some back exercises to ease the discomfort.

Other than that, I'm feeling pretty good and its been superb feeling the little one kicking and jumping around. Ok, I can't tell the difference between the various movements, but they are definitely more human-like and less random now.

Quite hard to grasp the fact that in about 11 weeks, we'll be holding our little one in our arms! :)

I got my maternity top from:

I can't believe that I won't be there in about 11 weeks to hold baby Beanie. I am so gutted about it...

Bring on Christmas!

A rather upset and homesick Jie Jie... x

Sabrina - Hey Jie Jie! :)

Yeah, it's gonna be sad that Aunt Sabrina wouldn't be able to be there to carry baby at the beginning. But I'm sure that Christmas will roll around soon! :) And baby would be bigger and less fragile by then. :)

Thanks! Yeah, time is flying by! I am getting really rounder. Can't imagine what I will look like at full-term!

You're looking absolutely radiant Pris! I remember how it is during the 3rd trimester though, energy levels were definitely an issue. Think it's the body's way of signalling us to slow down and conserve energy for the final push. Labour really takes a lot out of you, so do take it easy these last 11 weeks and rest rest rest ya? Hugs!

Hey Geli!
Thanks dear! :) We'll meet up soon and you can see my baby bump in real life. Yeah I am getting more excited too, but thank God that it's still 11 more weeks cos I need all the time to get ready!

Hey Sarah!

Thanks for your words of wisdom! I agree with you! Realized that I can't always be on my feet these days and have to take things slowly. If only I can hire part-time help!! That would help with my beauty sleep when baby's born!

Less fragile?! What are you trying to say!!! :)

Sabrina - Wahhaha. Don't you think that most newborns seem so fragile? I'm always scared to carry newborns cos I feel like they're so breakable. I guess our baby is going to have to deal with first-time parents and let's hope he'd be able to deal with our manhandling!
