Half a decade.... (already)!

We "celebrated" our 5-year anniversary yesterday (25th February).

Why "celebrated"?

That's because I developed plantar fasciitis on Tuesday - which means inflammation of the heel tendons. I woke up on Tuesday morning and suddenly realized that my right heel was burning! It was as if someone was pulling the tendon there and no amount of stretching could remove the pain.

I went ahead to work anyway and continued working until Thursday. By Friday, the pain was so unbearable that I couldn't walk to the toilet! Had to attempt crawling and even got my father-in-law to borrow crutches from the doctor so that I could make my way to the doc. with the hubby.

Yup, so our wedding anniversary was spent at the doctor where my hubby carried me up and down the stairs and at home, where hubby did everything for me, while I rested my feet! ;) Heehee, I'm quite pampered. We borrowed some DVDs and watched them too.

Our idea of going to for a massage was busted because we were too late in  making our appointment and there were no more available slots.

Anyway, what mattered more is that we could spend time together and enjoy each other's company.

Can't believe that we've crossed the 5-yr mark! And have been in a relationship for 8 yrs already! Wow. Coming to think of it, I think I must have been pretty brave to marry a guy whom I mainly only had a long-distance relationship with and even relocated to his home country, which I barely knew anything about!!

Its truely God's grace. There's been lots of tears and fights, but mostly a lot of love, compromise and fun! He makes me laugh.... (very much still!) and I still find him the smartest guy ever! Yup! My top 2 qualities in a guy are humor and smartness!

We're truly thankful to God for being the one who keeps our marriage spark alive and continue to trust and look to Him to guide us through the new adventures in our lives! 2011 will be such a year of changes for us! Its amazing how when we look back, we really see a pattern.

2006 was the year of massive changes for us, me especially - My mom died, we got married, we went to Discipleship Training School in YWAM and I relocated. I think I was maxed out to the brim on changes. So 2007 to 2010 were years when we could stabilize, grow in our relationship with God and each other, discover ourselves, enjoy the simple life etc. Kinna what we would call a plateau season, a season of "being". I was desperate for change again!

Sometime in 2010 while spending time with God, I had this impression that 2011 would be another year of massive change. I just felt this sense from the Holy Spirit and shared this impression with my hubby. And truly, the way 2011 is unfolding, it seems like this impression is really coming to pass!

We're excited and look forward to sharing our experiences here with you all! :) If you're on Facebook and would like to add me, let me know!

DeanO - Thanks! :) Yeah that's so true. Like a triangle with God, hubby and I on the 3 corners. The closer we draw to God, the more we draw closer to each other.

Hey Pris,
Are you better now with the foot? I used to have it before and it was a pain to find the right way to cure it. Finally, homopathy cured me with swallowing some candy like pills everyday.
Guten Besserung!
VG,
Cory
