Salzburg part 7 - Austrian food (Alter Fuchs)

This was the first restaurant we went to in Salzburg.

It's a pretty small, pub-like restaurant located on a side street in Salzburg. Our hotel staff recommended this place to us and we read that it's one of the top 10 recommended restaurants on Tripadvisor.

We would definitely recommend this restaurant as well! The food was great, portions were pretty big but not too much and service was excellent! Prices were affordable as well. One thing I like about this restaurant is that you get this feeling that the locals frequent this place as well. Its not huge, so you can have a quiet and laid-back dinner there without much noise.
I think mine was deer steak with grilled mixed vegetables and a dash of Balsamic vinegar. Absolutely delish!
Hubby had Hungarian gulash with red cabbage and some bread dumplings. I found it a bit salty, but then again most Germans / Austrians like their soups saltier

Our happy faces after finally being able to eat something at 10pm! We arrived in Salzburg at about 8.30pm and wanted to check-in and walk through the city before deciding on a restaurant.
Ok, the restaurant is normally full, but it was close to 11pm when I took this photo. Just to give you an idea of what the restaurant looked like
