I can't believe we're entering into the last month of 2010! Can you?
11 months have flown by in a blink of an eye. And I just celebrated my 3rd Christmas party with my school - which also means that I'm hitting the 3-year mark of teaching!
Funnily-enough, when I first started teaching, I thought that I wouldn't be doing it for more than a year. And look where I am now?
I do still enjoy my job. And most of the time, the students are great. My colleagues are a whole lot of fun to be around. The only thing is that I don't usually get much opportunity to hang out with them on a regular basis, because our teaching hours are pretty much independent of each other. So it can be a pretty solitary job.
Asian food wasn't exactly my idea of "Christmas", so to be honest I wasn't entirely thrilled when I found out that we were going to have Asian food for Christmas.
However, in hindsight, I realized that it was a superb idea! The restaurant was just next-door to our school (which meant that we didn't have to walk in the cold for long) and the food turned out much, much better than what I had expected!

My colleagues and I - from New York and Brisbane. Sadly one of them is leaving us in 2 weeks
New colleagues - from South Africa & Trinadad. Love this wonderful mix of colleagues!
That's Vietnamese Spring Rolls..... delicious stuff!
Chicken skewers served with satay peanut sauce, zucchini and red pepper. Hmmmm.....absolutely delectable!
Last but not least. Sago with coconut milk served with exotic fruits
For pretty good Vietnamese / Thai food:

Hey Manis!
You're always so positive and forward-looking huh! I tend to get a bit melancholic towards the end of the year - with the year coming to a close, me turning 1 year older and the colder, darker weather.
Yeah, the satays were surprisingly good!
