My dear hubby celebrated his birthday on Saturday. He turned another year older - in his 30s. Hah, shall not reveal his age...
We planned on going to Europa Park, however none of the youths from our cell could make it on Saturday. Hence, we postponed it to Sunday and on his actual birthday, we went about doing what we normally do on weekends - the household chores! We did, however, go to a superb Japanese restaurant, Feinkost Böhm Sushi-ya in the city. This has got to be the most expensive Japanese restaurant in Stuttgart!
Although we were prepared to pay a bomb, we almost fainted when we saw the prices. What would normally cost 2€ in Singapore, costs 7€ here! For a plate of 9 slices of sashimi, we paid 19€! Stephan almost decided that we should walk out of the restaurant without ordering anything, however I insisted that it was his birthday and he deserves to indulge on his birthday. Besides, we wouldn´t go to this restaurant on any other occasions.
Hence, we did stay put and ordered our sushi meticulously. Not being extravagant, but simply what we wanted and so that we wouldn´t be hungry. We were not disappointed. The sashimi was really fresh, the pieces were large and generous and we felt that this would be our sushi indulgence whenever we feel that the wait for real sushi in Singapore is too long to take. Oh, the sushi IS better than that from Sushi Tei for example. However, for the prices that we paid, we could easily go to any famous Jap restaurants in hotels in Singapore and get the same quality. But then again, beggars can´t be choosers. Hah, or nicer put, we should learn to be contented where we are.
Guess how much the sushi cost in the end? No less than 70€ including tips. **ouch** my heart hurts even while I´m typing this. But was it worth it? For European standards, definitely...and anything for my beloved beanie.
Thanks for another superb year with me. Really enjoy being your wife and you make such a perfect husband. So proud of you for passing your exams last year and there´s so much God has in store for you and us! (Jere 29:11) Thank God from the bottom of my heart for bringing both of us together and I pray that together with God, our marriage will soar to even greater heights. Love ya, Pris

Dear Sweetie,
there is nobody else I would rather be with. You are by far God's greatest blessing for me and I am grateful that you chose me over all the others. You have been and always will be out of my league, I definitely married up!

Remember that the sister is also reading this. Waaaaaayyyy too much for me to take. ;)
Pris, explain 'real sushi' please as am eating sushi here a lot and can't see a difference no matter where I buy it.
Hi Jie Jie! :) Hahah, I´m sure you and Holgar are not much different either! Hmm, hard to explain real sushi. Put it this way. The sushi at Feinkost Böhm tastes WAY better than those you get at chinese restaurants with teppanyaki buffet-cum-sushi. The colour of the sashimi is different...the redder it is, the fresher it is. Its a taste experience - hard to describe in words!
Dear Yvonne! SO nice to hear from you dear! :) Thanks for your encouragement! Really appreciated! I really enjoy writing and would probably continue to do so,even if nobody read it.... but yah...more so, if pple do read it! And yes! If sushi could be DHLed, I bet it´d be even cheaper still...but DHLed sushi might spoil on the way!
Happy Happy Birthday to your Beanie!!!
Thanks dear S. ! Hah, funny how you remember that we call each other "beanies"!
