Bolivia-connection

Top from left: Debora, Miri, Luigi
We were invited for dinner by Miri, Luigi (her boyfriend) and her sister Debora. Miri and Debora are both half-German and half-Bolivians. Luigi is also from Bolivia and was visiting of Miri since both of them are having a long-distance relationship (sounds so familiar). They have since gotten engaged during his visit. Its such an amazing story of God´s faithfulness. Both were childhood friends who lost touch with one another and subsequently got back in touch via Email (out-of-the-blue...but we all know that it´s God). A couple of months passed in between before Miri decided to take the big plunge into having a long-distance relationship and this visit by Luigi is the fruit of that decision after about 1 year of long-distance.

I´m so happy for both of them but it looks like I´m going to say good-bye to yet another great friend again. She´d be moving back to Bolivia by early 2009 and would probably stay there for a couple of years before God shows them what´s next. I read somewhere that said something like "Don´t just look at the good-byes. But be thankful that you had the chance to cross paths with some people in the first place" Yup, I shall endeavour to do just that and trust that God knows what He´s doing and has ordained each season of our lives in different geographical areas. Friends for different seasons but God is always constant and faithful. Amen. Shall still have to go through the slow and sometimes painful process of saying goodbye for the next couple of months! :(

Aren´t they cute? They stay in the same apartment, dance similarly and have a 1-2 yrs age gap. Many aspects of their relationship remind me of that with my sis in the past
