Schwäbisch food
We were invited to Stephan´s colleague´s combined 40th birthday with his wife. The mother of this guy owned a Swäbisch restaurant so we were really looking forward to the food there. I really like Schwäbisch potato salad (with vinegar instead of the usual mayo) and the different types of meat/ham. Of course I was apprenhensive since I hardly know Stephan´s colleagues but eventually, I ended up talking to the wife of an ex-colleague who works in PwC Munich. She´s like super Singaporean -in terms of being driven and performance-oriented, so perhaps that why I could talk with her? hah, I think we had common background, at least jobwise - she also did the corporate tax course (what stephan is doing now) and she said that it was the most difficult exams of her life. Thing learnt: Stephan´s not exaggerating when he says that the course is tremendously tough. But in Jesus Name, He´ll do just fine! Amen
Presents for the birthday guy and girl - We got "Mere Christianity" from C.S. Lewis and "Purpose-driven life" by Rick warren. They´re pretty much free-thinkers but since the guy reads, we figured that it wouldn´t harm to give him some Christian classics. The wrapping was complimentary...see that little beetle bug there?
Ham, fried chicken (incredibly yummy), salad...I had 2 portions
The incredible dessert buffet - all homemade and brought by the guests. Tiramisu, fruits, cakes galore....
