Life in Singapore - week 1

Okok, a million apologizes for not updating. Not my fault! Internet access has been far and few between, since Isaac only came back from army on Saturday (aka, no password -> no Internet) and Jacob uses the Internet pretty much everyday in the evenings. By the time I come back from meeting my friends in the evenings, its already too late to use the Internet without disturbing anybody. Hence, I'm so grateful that Isaac created a guest account for me, so I can use the Internet without the fear of disturbing anybody.... *phew* So far, my first week in Singapore has been a time of adjustments for me. The weather is scorching hot (as usual) and I've had to pay special attention to drink lots of water and keep away from stuffing myself with loads of chilli - which I'm not longer used to eating.

What I've done so far:-
- Having SushiTei with my Dad for my first meal in Singapore. Yummy! Here's the pix for you dearie!

- Treated myself to an exclusive manicure and pedicure session with Jennifer for only $30 (special offer)

- Straightened my hair again (this time much cheaper, abt S$208)
- Went for Andrea's church wedding at CHIJMES and dinner at Conrad. It was awesome!

I joined my ex-schoolmates from MGS in doing a special performance - We sang a medley of 3 songs, 2 English and 1 Chinese. The blue scarf you see me wearing was meant to be the "acting out" of the line "Sky is blue" from the song "Going to the chapel". I literally flapped my blue wings for comic effect, which worked! The audience laughed...

- Playing table soccer ("kicker") with Dad and losing like crazy. Still its a lesson for me to keep learning that playing is not all about winning, but enjoying each other's company.
- Enjoying the immense space and beauty of Dad's new terrace home. Its really quiet, save for the noisy construction next to us. They drill every morning as early as 9am...which means I should sleep soon if I wanna catch some beauty quiet sleep...

Actually now not meeting up with the girls. Belinda's stuff is arriving from Singapore today so she can't make it. But will tell you about it after it has happened.

Holger and I will be going to the North Sea for three weeks. We'll be mainly staying with his parents but we want to try and catch up with mum and dad while they are up in Bremerhaven. Would be lovely as I miss them a lot and it would be stupid not to meet up if they are there at the same time. However only 3 weeks to go and they'll be in London to visit me. Can't wait! We also want to do a bit of island hopping on hols (i.e. Juist, Norderney, Wangerooge etc.). Have been to Juist before and it is just beautiful. Big smile while I'm typing this... :)

Great to see all the updates and great to hear that you are having such a fantastic time. Say hello to the girls for me that I met when I came over for your wedding! They were all so lovely.

Miss you, see you soon (in London?!?!),

Hi Jie Jie!
Oh schade!
I'm sure you are so looking forward to your time there with Holger! I would so love to visit you in London, but I've actually used up all my leave for this year! hahah. We'll see, who knows maybe we might plan a short trip after Stephan's done with his SteuerberaterKurs? Which of the girls did you meet in Singapore? I'm having a hard time trying to remember to say HI for Stephan!

Hey,

I met up with Joyce the other day, we went out for drinks in the evening. Haven't heard anything back from them yet about lunch but am sure that we'll be meeting up soon.

Always time for a short weekend trip... :) Holger does it all the time! Anyway, would love to have you over - with or without my brother.

Off home now though, have horrible headache again today. The weather is changing by the minute, can't cope with it at all. Wish it was bank holiday here, too... :( At least mine is on Monday and I hate Mondays so that will make it easier. Have Thursday off as well to do my summer holiday shopping and to prepare Raclette. My girls are coming over and only one of them has tried it before. Should be fun, very early Christmas for me though!

Anyway, take care, have a fantastic time and I'll see you soon.

hey Jie Jie
Viel Spass beim Raclette.....
