Photos of my 25th birthday celebrations

My birthday gathering was so great. Had a potluck and invited friends from my german class, church and the Singaporean group too. It was the first time that I had so many guests over under one roof and from such diverse backgrounds too. I´m amazed that everybody managed to sit on the chairs that we provided....quite incredible. I made Wan Tons, chicken satay (that turned out too dry), Singapore curry chicken and pineapple fried rice. It was really heartwarming to see that almost everybody we invited could make it.

I think what´s so important for me is that I have a group of friends to celebrate my birthday with. Of course the friendships are still young, but at least in the midst of friends coming and going, there´s still a bunch who are gonna be based in Germany (for now). I think I´m so much a people-person, I simply feel so recharged being around people, even though the work it takes to clean up the house after that is challenging! Have ptos of the youth cell Christmas party coming up soon.....

My misfortunately dry satay! We left them too long in the oven. However, the cheaterbug Yeo´s Satay sauce was heavenly!

I made cookies and wrapped them up with chocs as party takeaways for guests

All decorated with extra table for the party

There´s people from U.S., Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Brazil and of course Germany at my party

Notice the Singaporeans?

Laura and hubby, Stefan too

What did I wish for??

My home-baked chocolate cake with candles to blow out some more! Such a blessing! Laura, who´s American knows thats its pretty common to blow candles. I´m so gonna retain that part of my culture as Germans don´t have candles on their birthday cake! The candle-blowing thing seems to be only for little kids.

Presents galore! I especially Loved my german cook book (IN ENGLISH)! Thanks so much dear Gerline! Only a Singaporean would think of that! Oh the other superb present was chopsticks with special bowls - with a hole so that you can insert the chopsticks through! Who else but Germans would think of smth so innovative as that?!? (top right of pix)

Flowers for me! Notice that I don´t have a proper vase? Stephan hardly buys me flowers! **Hint hint**
