Singaporean foodie

I´ve been experimenting big time. Tried making Nasi Lemak by myself for the first time last week. Everything´s home-made, including the Sambal Chilli and Coconut rice. Verdict! Very yummy! The entire combination tasted authentic - that´s very important! However, since its my first try, there´s definitely room for improvement. The sambal chilli was a bit salty and the coconut rice tasted a bit creamy. I got the Kentucky flour from Singapore to do the chicken and the prawns. So crispy and yummy! Next time, I´ll simply use the pre-mixed Nasi Lemak rice packet - the price is almost the same as when I buy the coconut milk!

My home-made Shui Jiao Mian

I enjoyed my meal! Stephan found it a bit too "gluely". But that´s the taste of egg noodles and boiled dumplings lah!

East-meets-West. What we drink when we´re having sore throat. I drink chinese tea, Stephan drinks honey with milk...hahah

On a quest to increase my veg. intake, I´ve resorted to eating baby food! I boiled all the "disgusting" veg. like celery, parsley, Poree etc with chicken flavoured KNOW mix! Result: Veg soup with potatoes and bread. I hardly taste the "disgusting" vegs but the smell still stinks! I think I shall still stick to nicer-tasting vegs in the future....

Dear mei mei,

we haven't discussed properly yet what we are doing over Christmas. So far we agreed that we both spend Christmas with our families and that we will try to see each other to celebrate the beginning of the new year but that could be either in Stuttgart, Munich or up north where his parents are.

First of all he's taking me to Vienna for a long weekend over my birthday! :) I haven't told mum or dad yet, I'm so excited though! :)

Lots of love, see you soon,

jie jie
