Reflections....

I´ve been cooking more these days. I think its cos we´re entering into Herbst (Autumn) soon, that´s why the colder weather has made me hungrier! Last Sunday, we invited our in-laws for a meal at our place and I´m proud to say that my dear Hubby managed to eat the curry that I cooked! That´s such a miracle, cos 3 years ago, he couldn´t take the smell of curry!

Things that have been happening lately:-
1) Stephan has started on his tax advisors course. Its similar to the CFA for tax consultants and in Germany, people need this certification in order to be self-employed. That takes up a massive amount of time. He works 4 days a week and on Fridays and Saturdays, he attends lectures (2pm to 8pm - Fri and 9am to 3.30pm - Sat). Sundays, he spends his afternoons after church to study and do his homework. His professor even told the class that on average, a person needs about 1,400 hours in one year to pass this exam. This equates to more than 100 hours per month and about 25 hours per week?

2) I have also started my Creative Life Planning course, by Xpand Organisation Its great, cos I met up with this ex-Pastor, now full-time counsellor and consultant for the first time last Friday. I have a book to read and homework to do. The goal of this course is to discover your Life Calling and God´s specific purpose for you.

Its true that every Christian has a purpose to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and to Love your neighbour as yourself. But God also has a specific calling for each of us, according to how he has shaped us - aka our abilities, talents, heart, experiences etc.

I´ve read quite a number of books on this topic but never actually got down to writing down what my vision for my life is. That´s why I´m doing this course with a trained professional and not simply read a book. This would force me to be more focused and reflecting and really asking God to direct and guide me.

One thing that struck me is this: Everybody dies, but not everybody really lives.
I want to live a life of passion, that I look forward to waking up everyday, (not on weekends), knowing that I´m fulfilling God´s purpose for my life and doing what God has prepared for me to do. I don´t want my life to be one long, boring obligation, but that I´m filled with PASSION from God, cos I found my place in the society
...
okok, just sharing some of my reflections according to what I´ve been reading and learning......

3) I´ve started my accountability group with my friend, Geli. We are doing the book of Matthew now and meet up weekly to discuss what we have read, go through what struck us and simply ask God to teach us through His word. I really enjoy and benefit so much from it, cos there´s reflection, fellowship, prayer and just taking time off to spend time with God. The dynamics of an AG is also so different from a cell. Its not activity-based, but really more discipleship-based. We both have similar goals to challenge each other to grow deeper and to speak into each other lives.

"Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name." Mal. 3:16 I´m encouraged by this verse that simply by meeting up, to talk about God and various issues, God writes a scroll of remembrance for us!

Our first AG meeting in a chinese restaurant
