1. The humidity!
I know I know. I should be the last to complain, but my clothes stink all the time! Stephan and I even resorted to buying "Dynamo" detergent simply cos powdered soap does not seem to work on our clothes and towels. Sweat sweat sweat! I think somehow my sweatpores changed when I stayed in Germany.
2. The working hours of my friends here
I can´t speak for ALL Singaporeans. But from what I hear in general, I´m just so grateful that I´m no longer working in Singapore. We talked to our friends from our adult cell group and it seems like at least 95% of them are clocking crazy hours at work and sleeping immensely little. One of our friends even stays overnight in the office?!?
3. The immensely COLD buses!
Geez, I thought I got over it. But I haven´t! I don´t seem to be able to survive the cold buses anymore. We took a 35mins bus ride when it was raining cats and dogs. Hence, we were kinna wet (not entirely, but "nass") and the bus was blasting crazily cold air! What happened after the bus-ride? I get a sore throat and Stephan gets a cough....okok, the cough resulted from other reasons too, but the cold air is a huge contributing factor.
Other than that, I´ve been enjoying my time back. Things have changed so much in 1 year!
- The construction works for the Integration Resorts is well under way. The entire landscape at the Esplanade has changed, thanks to the numerous cranes that line the horizon of the Singapore River
- New buildings sprouting up like crazy!
- Even the menu in Sakae Sushi has changed! Stephan and I actually walked out of the restaurant upon realizing that our favourite "chicken don" was no longer offered there.
Oh and the food! Man! Its been more than a year since I last had a chinese wedding dinner! Shark´s fin, cold dish! Yum yum! It was also the first time that Stephan and I attended a wedding dinner together! And he has also never seen me in this black dress that he bought for me about 2 years ago?
Photos speak a 1,000 words, so I shall just let them do the talking of my lovely Singapore!

Photos do indeed speak a thousand words! You certainly look lovely in that black dress. :+)
I find that SG tends to overdo the aircon bit. In fact anywhere that has airconditioning, I find it cold: buses, shopping centres, even church! We were in church for the Sacrament of reconciliation prior to Easter and sat under the aircon. It was absolutely freezing. Talk about doing penance. Ha! Ha!
Sounds like you're having a great time. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
God Bless!
Sharon
Hi Pris, Thks for the update on SG. I still cannot believe that I will be in SG in two weeks' time. You and I will have equal culture shock as we came to Germany about the same time, right? :-)
Yup, u looked really lovely in your black dress!
Yeah, talk about humidity, that is something that I do not miss.
Take care and get well soon... see you in two weeks' time! :-9
Hi Pris...I agree with Sharon and Cory 200%.....you look gorgeous and stunning in that black dress.
You are not the only one who can't 'tahan' the a/c in SG :-) That's why I always bring a light cardigan whenever my husband and I travel either by bus, MRT or taxi. It's really freezing especially at night.
Have fun and get well soon!!!
Miss you!!!!!!
Hey dear girls! Thanks so much for your lovely encouragement about the freezing weather! Ahhh.... at least I don´t feel so "foreign" in my own birthland. I wanted to upload more pix but my internet connection cannot make it! Ahh... took forever to upload 2 pix so I thought, what the heck, can wait till Germany then can upload more pix... but maybe might get homesick when I upload the pix later! haha.
Dear Cory! Yay! Then I can welcome you back to SIngapore! Looking forward to our Chinatown date! =) Woo-hoo. Yah loh, we have been in Germany abt the same time. Thanks for yr compliment! I went the tailor the dress, cos it was a bit loose on the shoulders - a bit dangerous haha. I dun miss the humidity too! All the best with yr packing dear!
Dear Su!
Thanks for your compliment too! I hardly get to wear my dress though... aiya. Good thing is that we bought it at a huge discount from ZARA, paid S$80 for what used to cost abt S$200! ahahh. Ya i resorted to bringing my denim jacket too, I use the same jacket in Germany too with 13degrees and also in Sg with like 30degrees. Talk abt irony.

Dear Mrs N, realized that my post personally to you didn´t get posted! ahhh... it happens smth. Thanks for yr lovely compliment! =) I´m getting more used to the air-con now, thank God! how´s life in England?
Dear Steph! I wld love to send you the photo but I got the slowest internet connection here that refuses to upload pix onto emails! Can I send to you when I return to Germany? Pai sei. But dear, we enjoyed EVERY BIT of attending yrs and Ryan´s wedding dinner! So so beautiful! Yourself and everything in the wedding! Ryan´s crooning too!
Pris, you looked gorgeous indeed in the dress and love that so-like-me too bit about the excellent bargain (grin).
I actually missed shopping in Germany, believe it or not. Have not seen a sale in months.
Agree too about the aircon, when I was working at MND I actually wrote a staff suggestion asking them to raise aircon temperatures so that we could save electricity and not freeze. But no-hew leh.
And thanks so much for passing on the stuff to my mom, at least I got to send the present to my friend before her newborn outgrows the clothes!
You let me know if you'll be coming to visit me in Italy soon, ok!
Dear Serene! =) Hey nice to hear frm u again. U look like u had a blast in Paris! =) WOW, makes me so keen to go there too. Ahhh....so many places to visit, too little money. Anyways, thanks for yr compliments! And no problem abt passing the stuff 2 yr mom. Ha, I arranged with yr mom and stephan ended up going to pass to her, cos I was not feeling too good. She gave us some chinese goodies from Lee Zhen Xiang (bak kwa place). Ahh, u and mom so alike in terms of giving ppl food hahahhaha.
