Yummy Food Exhibition

Last Friday, I went to my first-ever exhibition in Stuttgart. It was held at the Killerberg-Messe and there was specialty food from different parts of Germany, Italy, Greece, France and Austria. My oh my, was the food super yummy or what. The normal entrance fee was 12€ but since I went with my german class, we actually got in free-of-charge! That was a HUGE bargain. We could sample all sorts of different sausages, biologically-grown Salmon (which was the BEST salmon I´ve ever tasted), olive oil (it was such a cultural experience for me to see people actually drinking olive oil!) and all sorts of german specialities like cheese and bread.

I was so tempted to let myself go and buy different sausages, salami, bread eg. BUT, I did something clever - which was to call my dear husband to ask him for his opinion about buying salami (2 huge pieces) for 10€. He for one, was so envious that I was able to savour everything in the exhibition from Europe and the Mediterranean world. However, he reminded me we should be saving money for Singapore instead. I thought that was a good reason, so I ended up only with some wonderful italian specialty bread (Palabirnenbrot) and a bottle of nice wine! =) It was the first time I had an outing with my class. Realized that I get to know people so much outside class. So thankful that my german teacher is so creative and actually thought of this idea to use classtime to go out. We get to learn about the culture of Germany and Europe at the same time.

Looks a bit gross, but tastes wonderful!
HUGE cheese! That´s my friend from Tunisia

Hi Pris....the Salami looks very tempting :-) I learned to eat it after moving to Germany and like it.

Not sure whether you got my email, I sent you one about a week ago.
