I'm half-way there!

Wow, I'm actually 20 weeks + now! Its awesome! When I think that in another 20 more weeks, I'll be holding our baby!!!!

We have another scan in about 2 weeks' time before we go to Singapore. This time, we will pay for the scan ourselves because our insurance only covers 1 scan per trimester. I just wanted another scan so that we can hopefully confirm the gender and finally start our baby shopping!!! **exciting**

I've been feeling regular flutters in my belly. Sometimes they feel like butterflies and other times they feel just like gas!

But yesterday I actually felt baby kick through my belly!

I said bye to the hubby when he left for work and tried to get back to sleep. Kept feeling flutters in my belly so I decided to put my right hand on my belly....randomly, cos I have no idea how high / low baby is.

And within a few seconds, I felt my belly move upwards & baby kick at the same time!!!!It wasn't just a flutter - which I'm never 100% if it was baby or if I imagined that up but it was a real KICK! And I felt it on my palm and inside my belly!

I was in TOTAL 7th heaven and had to call my hubby to tell him all about it! He in turn, told his male colleague that I got punched for the first time today!

You can imagine his colleague's reaction...like "Punched???" The cheeky hubby had to explain to him what he really meant.

Wow, I know that one can feel baby's movement through the belly, but I didn't expect my first real movement through the outside to be so early!!!!

Oh boy, we're going to have a baby!!!!!

Your baby measures about 16.5cm from crown to rump and is steadily gaining weight. A whitish coat of a slick, fatty substance called vernix caseosa begins to cover your baby, protecting her skin during its long immersion in amniotic fluid. It also eases birth. Your baby's swallowing more this week, good practice for her digestive system. After your baby takes in amniotic fluid, her body absorbs the water in the liquid and moves the rest into her large bowel. In her bowel, a sticky by-product of her digestive system, called meconium, accumulates. It'll appear in her first nappy after she's born.

that's so great!
I know my sister went for the second scan too and had to pay for it, but it's totally worth it!
Just don't shop too much ;) I remember, that my sister and brother-in-law got looooots of things from friends and family ;)
Just enjoy the time!

Hey Simon!

Thanks! Has your sister given birth yet? Oh hah, nice to know I'm not the only one who will pay for a private scan.

Nice to know! :) Hee. I don't really know what to buy yet. Your time in Canada is flying by!
