Its been a while since I updated my cooking agenda. We finally invited the in-laws over for lunch last Friday- it being a public holiday (Germany´s National Day). It has been ages since we last had them over, since Stephan started his exam preparations.
Anyways, I cooked 3 dishes which they have not had the chance to try yet.
Lemon chicken - cooked with skin and without bones! I grilled them first (healthier) and poured lemon sauce and sesame seeds over it....yup! Since you eat with your eyes, I added lemon slices for the presentation of the dish (only when I have guests over you see.....)
My favourite Tilapia fillet cooked the chinese way
What´s a chinese meal without some chinese vegetables. Deciding that it was time the in-laws tried "real" chinese vegetables, we got some from the asian store and boy, did the fried onions taste superb with it!
We went for a lovely walk to digest the food and came back for some cappucino with French Madelines - okok, don´t start "killing" me. I got this recipe from the internet and while it may not be the most authentic (for the French), it certainly is very tasty and very simple to make :) Thumbs up from the in-laws too!
The result of it all..... yum yum! The in-laws actually came "prepared" - with an empty stomach, on anticipation of the food....We have this pact that we would have western food at their place and they would have asian food at ours....been working out very well!

I like the photo of the lemon chicken! Looks like it has been taken by those food column expert! Keep it up!
Hey Cory! :) How are you! Long time no hear! Thanks for your compliment! - So precious esp. when its coming from a true-blue Singaporean. Quite rare to get thumbs up from the food experts!
Hahha, guess where I got the idea from? From the chinese restaurants in Singapore of course! Except that they normally only have 1 or 2 slices of lemon, not like the entire bunch like mine. You taking part in any more marathons lately?
Ooo.. I made lemon chicken too. How coincidental, but I should have sprinkled some sesame seeds. Didn't think of that.
Hey Sig! So nice that you popped by my blog! I pop by yours too! You´re S.´s friend, aren´t you? Your cooking´s amazing too! Oh and guess what. Apparently we used the same lemon sauce too? I imported mine from Singapore - Woh Hup and wanted to use it up. The next time though, I will try to make it myself....need to learn to be self-sustaining overseas.
