Prince Caspian

I watchedPrince Caspian in German last Saturday. I know, its really outdated, considering that they were already showing this show in Singapore in May. I wanted to watch it then but decided that I would rather watch it with my Beanie in Germany. We almost didn´t get to watch it since the English cinema only screened it at 4.15pm on weekdays. "Who has time to watch it then?!?"

Anyways, out of desperation, we decided to catch it in German since there wasn´t any other option. It turned out to be so EXCELLENT that I totally didn´t regret having to catch it in a dubbed language. The German language wasn´t half as bad as I had feared it would be and I felt so spiritually fed by the show.

The scenes that moved me was really the last part when Lucy Pevensie was standing at the side of the lake with the lion, Aslan and watching the entire army advancing towards them. She took out her mini-sword and it was almost hilarious that such a small sword would be her defence. Standing her ground, Aslan gave out a mighty roar and the waters of the lake drowned the army. That so symbolised the parting of the red sea when God rescued His people from the Egyptians.

Since the books were written by C.S. Lewis, a renowed Christian apologist, its obvious to see the Christian influences in the movie. The entire show left such a lasting and deep impression on my soul that I really felt God speaking through this movie. The part when Aslan asked Lucy why she took such a long time to seek Him, she mentioned being afraid since nobody believed in what she said - that is SO TRUE! When we disciples of God wait for others to respond before we act, we are not being obedient to what God calls us to do. I need to so mediate on that too, that I´m the only person responsible for my relationship with God and when God calls me to do something, I need to respond in obedience even when nobody has the same conviction.
