Daily happenings - summertime

Above: We were at the Stuttgart Weindorf (an annual wine festival). Didn´t drink the wine actually, since they were at cut-throat prices and we´re not that much of wine fans to pay those prices. We just soaked in the atmosphere, since Markus parents were there. The only frustrating thing about that place is the smoke. We were sitting next to people (strangers) who were literally smoking in our face, so much so that our clothes stank of the aftermath of tobacco and my contact lens were drying out. Eeekks....

We had dinner first at some Spanish finger food place
Left: My dear sweetie surprised me one day by buying me a huge vase, complete with hand-picked flowers that grew on a field around our house. Stephan has finally started on his grueling one-week intensive exam preparation course. This week from Monday to Saturday, he would be writing 6-hr mock exams everyday, stop for a one-hr break, followed by the going through of answers for another 1 or 2 hours. Do say a prayer for him, won´t you? He has been studying at home full-time for the month of August and he´d have another 1 more month of studying to go before facing the fire test on the 7th, 8th and 9th of October. Can´t wait! We really can´t wait to get the written part over and done with. When he passes it, he´d have his orals sometime early next year. And after that, its gonna be FREEDOM! This exams have been the biggest challenge that we´ve faced in our marriage until now.

On one of those lazy Sunday afternoons....walk in a park and talking about life

This lake is frozen during winter...so nice to see ducks swimming in summer

Dinosaur museum/What better way to end of a hot summer day than a refreshing cool honeydew drink with fresh fruits in a self-carved-out container

I'm so jealous... It's so cold here already and it feels like late autumn... :(

Also just realized that it's about 26 degrees in Munich at the moment with the best of sunshine. And when I'm going over on Friday, it's going to change to rain and 14 degrees... :(

Oh dear Jiejie, you´re going to Munich this weekend? Its a pity that Holgar´s not going to move to stuttgart anytime soon eh? Hey, are you going to be at home in the evening tomorrow? (wednesday). I could give you a call!

Well, I'm very certain that I can promise you now that Holger won't ever move to Stuttgart. And I don't mind as I don't necessarily want to go back there anyway. Am sure we'll be ending up further up north at some point.

Just checked the weather report again for the weekend. It's dropping from 26 degrees tomorrow to 8 degrees on Sunday. I mean seriously, what have I done wrong?!

Won't be in tonight or at least not early. I have a seminar to go to which will last until 8.30pm for sure, probably another hour on top. So won't be home til about 10.30pm my time. It's a bit of a busy week this week anyway. Had a ball to go to last night and then leaving drinks on Thursday followed by a flight to Munich Friday evening. Next week hopefully?

x

Ohh.... why wouldn´t Holgar want to move to Stuttgart? Is it too small a city? hahah, I find stuttgart too small too! hahah...would prefer to live in a bigger city like Munich or Hamburg... But then again, I really love my church here and having the in-laws so near! That´s one of the best things of living in Stuttgart! hahaha.....

Yes, would be lovely to live close to you guys and the parents obviously. But having seen other cities, I don't think that I would enjoy living in Stuttgart again. It's nice, don't get me wrong, but just not my cup of tea really.

Not enjoying London much at the moment either though. It's horrible weather, I'm freezing cold most of the time already, the atmosphere right now is horrible with Lehman Brothers filing for bankruptcy and thousands of people having to look for a job etc. etc. etc. Hoping that I might find a new job soon which might cheer me up a little and give me a bit of an energy boost. Very depressed at the moment...
