Eventful weekend

We watched "The dark Knight" with A.and her hubby Kevin last Saturday. Although I really did look forward to the show with anticipation, I wasn´t very thrilled by it after all. I guess the scariest parts were when the Joker had his sinister laughter and gestures. The way he licked his lips and chuckle was enough to send shivers up my spine. Besides that, there were some unexpected twists to the plot that I should not reveal for the sake of those who have yet to watch the show. Overall, I think Narnia would have been more worth the time and better for the soul. But do watch this show if you´re a fan of batman. I did miss Kathy Holmes (as her replacement wasn´t as pretty and much older), but the acting was praiseworthy, especially the Joker - who unfortunately has died of a drug overdose in real life. I guess that made his acting even spookier, cos you never really knew whether his acting was entirely fictional or if it partially mirrored his real personality.......
Above: We had superb home-made Nabe with A. and her hubby before the movie. And yes, it tasted as good as it looks. She fried Wantons too (which tasted like Gyoza). I had 3-4 helpings of the soup in total. Such yummy healthy goodness, with no guilt feeling after indulging in it. We even went back to their place for dessert after the movie and ended hitting the sheets pass 1am...therefore attending church in the afternoon.

Last last weekend: We went to Bad Wimpfen for a superb BBQ with the Smeets. I was down with stomach infection (it wasn´t as bad as it sounds, more like rumbling tumbling in my stomach that resulted in a slight fever for 2-3 days and bad toilet times). There was great food and company but we couldn´t stay long (till about 11pm) cos it takes us 45 minutes to travel back and I didn´t feel very well.
Above: Last-minute lunch with pre-made chicken cutlets and homemade vegetables with chinese mushrooms, red pepper, bamboo shoots, spring onions and the chinese fungi..yummy!

Geli and Hansie had their engagement party yesterday. I remembered how fun it was to celebrate our engagement when Stephan proposed to me, when we had a last-minute pizza evening during his 4-day trip in Singapore. Hence, I persuaded Geli to have one too, no-fuss, I contributed a salad and sushi and she got meat to grill. It was such a happy occasion.
