Alfredo sauce & Pesto

Left: Pasta with Alfredo sauce (Cremé Frische, shallots, mushrooms & bacon) Right: Pasta with Pesto (Salmon with garlic and onions)

Ever since I got my own Basil plant, its been so tempting for me to experiment with different types of sauces. Latest on my new recipe is that of Alfresdo sauce which I learnt from a website that shows you how to cook step-by-step. Really easy. There are also a lot of other videos there. I saw one which was quite funny, "how to kiss passionately". Its like ABC guide for everything in life..... Video jug Thing I like about Italian cooking is that its so easy, really fast and tasty all at the same time. Little preparation...oh well, homemade pesto needs to be grinded, but that´s about it.

Oh and guess what I found at the Asian store the other day? Mooncakes direct from Hong Kong! I bought one just for myself to satisfy my craving and boy, was it delicious! It was only €2,50 and without egg yolk too, just the way I like it.... Following up, I´ll blog about celebrating Singapore´s National Day in Germany.....

Nice bears, blue skies. Lovely. Pictures of food (except the mooncake) made me so hungry, can't help but reach for my sandwich as I am typing this comment. Since I learnt how to make mooncakes, I eat very little of it after I know what goes into it.

Your dad wanted to bring me to see the fireworks after the National Day parade but since it rained we decided to give it a miss. We landed up waiting more than an hour for chilli crabs at Uncle Leong's restaurant. Worse part was it didn't taste as good as before (according to your dad) as it was too crowded.

Hi Grace :) Thks for dropping by. Hahah, yah I know that mooncakes are unhealthy, that´s why I only bought one...heehee. I like pasta too...that´s why I´m trying to learn how to make more sauces.

Oh, Where did my Dad want to bring you to see the fireworks? Chilli crabs, yummy! Can imagine that you have a long time since its a public holiday. Did you see the Beijing Olympics opening?

Yeah, I watched the Olympic opening till past midnite. Three quarters of the programme was draggy as it showed the partcipants strolling into the stadium country by country. Imagine there were 203 countries. I was actually waiting for the lighting up of the Olympic torch. It was a novel idea that the final runner with the torch suspended in midair looked as if he was running the final lap alongside the stadium with a Chinese scroll opening up along the way. Somehow the runner being suspended in midair reminded me of those Chinese Kung Fu movie with flying moves. So Chinese-shee (or Cheena (Singlish). On the whole I think China did itself proud.

Hey Grace, yup I saw the lighting of the torch on YOUTUBE. Very impressive indeed. So creative. My Singaporean friend was raving about the opening ceremony too....its quite amazing that China has won so many gold medals so far.... We´re wondering if the athletes dope actually....

I am quite sure they do dope but with Chinese herbs so that it cannot be detected by Western test kits.
