Alex´s summer party in Heidelberg

Left: Me and Alex
We were invited to an incredible party at Heidelberg last Saturday. Boy, this must have been the most expensive and extravagant party that we´ve been to, since moving to Germany. It was smack beside the Lake Neckar and overlooked the old part of the city - ie. the castle and the touristy area.

Right: Tina and I (I was tiptoeing cos she´s much taller than me)I got to know both Alex and Tina from school and they were my ex-students. Alex and her boyfriend are from Hungary but both of them grew up in Germany. Tina´s half-German and half-Croatian. It was such a fabulous evening, just one of those things that we did spontaneously, agreed to go one day in advance, drove down with Tina and her bf Frank and had such a superb night of chilling, talking in German and enjoying the relaxing European way of life....Alex and her boyfriend were such excellent hosts that we never felt left out even though they must have invited about 30-40 people.

We had a cook to grill the food for us and Brazilian girls preparing Capirinhas. For food, we had beef, turkey, German sausages (of course), salad and dessert. They rented the entire pub just beneath their building, so that there would be enough space and the party could go on till the wee hours of the morning. We didn´t have that luxury though, since we had to drive back to Stuttgart (about 1.5hrs) and got home at about 2am. Not to mention that we still had to go to church....Needless to say, we went for the 4pm service...hahah...
Food grilled over open air....yummy!

This is what I mean by POSH! And the entire area for us!
They rented an apartment on the 3rd storey of an old hotel building, with an open-air balcony, on which they have a whirlpool big enough to fit about 4-5 people. A pity that we didn´t manage to view the apartment earlier, so that we might have been able to catch the sunset over the lake. Well, there´d be other opportunities hopefully! You might remember that Heidelberg is like my favourite German city, (by far)....so romantic....I even thought that Stephan would propose to me there! Talk about being a diehard romantic!

Their super creatively-designed apartment facing the river. The sofa is elevated for viewing purposes

All the girls in the Alex´s apartment...yes yes, I know what you´re thinking....good-looking eh?

Love this shot! Tina took a pix of us dancing from the camera screen

What do you think? A"normally" taken shot or the "Karen Cheng" shot?
