Sweet corn soup and mixed vegetables

I saw some sweet corn in the supermarket and decided that I would buy some before even knowing what I would do with it....... I had some carrots, onions and thought, hey I could buy some spare ribs and boil my corn soup! I ended up boiling the soup for hours and only ate one corn cob in the end, while throwing away the others. I only like the taste of corn in soup. Stephan couldn´t take the "chineseness" of the soup though. I didn´t mind, as long as I get a taste of home again! Besides, it was only good for 3 or 4 servings....

I had a vegetable craving too last week and went crazy buying all sorts of vegetables, without thinking of how long they would be able to last. In my last-minute effort to salvage my veg before they spoilt, I ended up cutting everything that I had and stir fried it. Full of vitamins and goodness I must say. I had chinese cabbage, carrots, beansprouts, Kohlrabi (similar to Bang Kuang) and some mushrooms for added taste. We had so much vegetables that we had the first portion with rice and the second portion with some beehoon. I left the noodles overnight on the stove and they spoilt though, cos the weather became so warm. Now I know, summertime, no overnight food outside!
