I´ve started work in Germany again. At first, I thought that this summer would be quite slow for me, since I´m not even getting my minimum 20hrs-a-week. On hindsight however, I´ve gotten 2 new companies, with 7 different 1.5hr-classes, which means hours of preparation for me. Hence, I´m actually quite relieved that my hours in the school has been cut down. *phew* God knows best.
Anyways, I had a hard knock when I first came back to Germany. The sheer difference between being in Singapore for a 4.5weeks- hectic-but-fruitful visit, to the slowness-and-serene life of my little city Korntal was HUGE to say the least. The reality that Stephan´s exam is drawing closer and his hours of studying are getting longer hasn´t been exactly easy either to help in my readjustment process. I actually spent my first few days sleeping really long - to get over my exhaustion from my trip and my flight too.
Now, after exactly 1 week of being back, I do feel a bit more adjusted. I´ve taught in 2 of my new classes and THANK GOD! I think I´m taking to the class quite well and vice versa . In my job, if the students are not happy with the teacher, its not uncommon for them to demand a change of teacher.
One of my companies was acquired this way too. Apparently the company demanded from the school that they wanted me to teach them and cancelled the classes of the other teacher. I taught them only once (my first-ever teaching experience in a company) when the other teacher wasn´t available and honestly I felt that I didn´t do a good job. Imagine my shock when they threatened to discontinue their contract unless the school allocated me to teach them. Anyways, that class takes place next Monday and I really hope and pray that I´ll be able to be a good teacher for them.
Back to my cooking life in Germany - guess what my first meal was after having tons of Asian food in Singapore? That´s right! I cooked Asian food again! Lemon chicken to be exact. And for good reason too! My packets of Lee Kum Kee sauce had expired during my stay in Singapore! So I had to salvage them....

Rather you than me! I'm flying out tomorrow and I can't wait. It's been the most horrible time at work and I've been trying to get through the days.
Won't be reading your blog for the next 4 weeks either so don't worry about updating. ;)
See you soon.
Lots of love,
jie jie
