I´m back safely in Germany. Arrived at 11pm (5am Sg time) last night to a surprise candles-and-sparkles welcome from my youth cell. I was really touched and jottled out of my jet-lag and half-awake slumber. Stephan was the mastermind of this. It meant so much to me cos I feel that I have many more friends and peers in Singapore.
My first day in Germany has been marked by:-
- No more daily SMSes from my friends about meetups and get-togethers.
- No more Straits Times newspaper to read with my breakfast! I think I´d need to settle down for Internet version.
- Loads of unpacking that have yet to be done.....and jet-lag to get over.
- Empty fridge which means that I need to go grocery shopping and cook! I like cooking but actually if I´m staying in Singapore, I think I wld be cooking way lesser than I do than in Germany
- Of course missing my family (esp. Jacob whom I spent a lot of time with during this trip) and my dear friends whom I managed to meet up and catch up.... gd times come and go so quickly!
- Stark realization that I need to change to German and no more Singlish!!! Boo hoo.... Its great that I will be meeting up with some Singaporeans this Saturday...
BUT!
- I was really happy to be reunited with my beloved husband again. Its really been a while. When we hugged at the airport, it felt like we were dating all over again and I was here to visit... He´s back at work and reality hits that I will have to start work again on Monday..... ahhh..... Another start of a new season of my life.... I shall keep my eyes focussed on God and look forward to all the things He has in store for me in Germany.
