School

I´ve started work since last Monday. Although my contract states 20hrs/week, I ended up clocking about 32 hrs (which explains my lack of blog activity). In the meantime, I´ve been struggling to maintain a balance between my job, keeping my house in order, cook dinner, do my English homework (the books that students do) and to maintain my normal standard of living.

I must say that I enjoy my working experience. Its only been training so far, so maybe that´s why. But seriously, my work environment is nice, I like my colleagues and most of all, I can picture myself being an English teacher. :) I think I might finally take on my first class this coming Tuesday.

I´ve also started teaching officially at the VHS (community centre) and there are 6 students, including a Neurologist. 5 guys and 1 girl, which makes a nice mix of people. It was quite comical at first, cos this lady thought that I was a student too and she invited me to join them. She then noticed that I spoke really good English and thought that I had "sehr gut geübt".... which means "practised a lot English speaking". Only later did she realize that I was the teacher. Heehee. I guess that´s hard to guess, since I must probably be the youngest person, or maybe second-youngest.....

I´ve baked a few muffins lately so thought will post some photos.... enjoy!

My fave banana almond muffins

First attempt of mixed berries muffins - received fave reviews

My first try of braised duck - really yummy for the fact that I only bought the duck fillet and didn´t have any duck bones. The gravy wasn´t fantastic, but the duck meat had a nice flavour

Hmmm...the muffins looked delicious and the duck had a really nice colour. I'll come back to you about the Pho another day, I fear that I'm too busy lately.

Congrats for the job, lots of kisses,

S.

Dear Steph! Thanks! I really do enjoy teaching! ITs only been 2 days since I started teaching but its been both fun and tiring at the same time. I´m glad to finally be able to find something to do and pray that God continues to open more doors for me. My colleagues tell me that they teach CEOs of companies too. That´s such a huge responsibility! But such a huge possibility of open doors to people whom I might not cross paths with!
