Today´s grammar test was crazy too, I tried so hard to write the proper grammar terms, but ended up with a massive headache (until now) and still not sure if I can pass that particular session. The rest of the parts were quite ok. Anyways, I have to keep reminding myself that I´m learning the language not to prove to myself that I (still) have brains or anything, but simply that I want to learn. Need to snap out of my "Singaporean-ness" about being performance driven and focussing only on the end-results.
Well at least i know that I´ve done my best so have to leave the rest to God now. God does not expect perfection, He only expects me to rely on Him. That´s what I need to meditate on. I only have my orals tomorrow and I´ll be over with German for the rest of my life. I mean, german school of course, would still have to use german everywhere I go. Hee hee.
Just a few photos of what I have been about in my life out of my german cramping. I´ve been cooking and cooking and cooking! And boy do I love c
I´ve introduced my friends to this superly yummy restaurant that sells beef hor fun and wan tan soup just like in Singapore. They love it! And we have been back for a second time today again. Above: Laura-eurasian from US, Chom Chay from Thailand, A.- Japanese
My mushroom soup with pastry. I made the pastry myself, soup was Campbell soup (courtesy of Serene). Anita said that she has never tried this before in her entire life!!! Woo hoo, milestone!
Shepherd´s pie: with mixed beef and pork meat, plus mashed potatoes plus cheese
My bee hoon with vegetables and eggs. Got some chilli from my Thai friend and it makes everything yummy! Finally got to use the bee hoon from Singapore (frm the Ponniahs). They sell bee hoon too here of cos.
Tofu! With minced meet and spicy bean sauce. Miracle of all miracles, Stephan likes tofu when I cook it this way! Woo-hoo! One more Asian dish.
The weather was really hot and humid 1 week ago. We invited our parents over for lunch and took a walk in the forest after that.
Oh, a blessing to share. Last Sunday night, the weather was so humid and I went to bed at twelve but got awokened all of a sudden at 2am and couldn´t get back to sleep. We don´t have any air-conditioner or fan so I was basically walking around in the house, fanning myself and grumbling at the weather. Out of desperation, I prayed and asked God to send some breeze cos the air was so STILL, it was unbelievable! To me, I thought "Nothing to lose what, its so hot already, worse come to worse, it will just remain hot loh".
And I was tossing and turning in bed for 1 hour before I realized that the weather was drastically changing. The Winds started to howl and it sounded like a storm was starting! The wind was blowing non-stop! I was like so so touched that God would send so much wind and breeze for me to sleep. Ended up, there wasn´t a storm but the air just got cooler and more comfortable to sleep. I went to dreamland with the satisfaction and knowledge deep down in my heart that GOD LOVES ME! As simple as that, but so easily forgotten.

Hi Pris
It's me again ;p I can understand how you must have felt for your German exams. It was like this for me too when I had to take my Jap exams a long time ago. Your mention about God's love touched me and I think I found the answers that I was looking for in my prayer requests to him =)
Pris, how I wished that I have the chance to taste your cooking last week when I was in Stuttgart! It is great that your exams are almost over! Look forward to go back to Singapore! See you in Singapor in Sept!

Hi dear Pris
I took Jap when I was in uni. If I had taken the external accreditation for it it should be JLPT 4 (the lowest level). So you'll be back in SG in Aug, but I guess by the time you get back, I'll be flying off to Shanghai to work (will be teaching there), so cannot meet up :(
Hi dear June! Thanks so much for telling me! I enjoy reading your blog too! Give me a taste of Singapore. =) Miss u lots! Can´t wait to meet up wif u too!
Hey Cyn! You are going to Shanghai for the long-term? To teach chinese? Or what are you going to teach? That´s sad that we can´t meet up. But happy for you.
Heehee...my Mandarin is terrible...I'm wondering how I'm ggoing to survive in Shanghai. I'm actually going there to teach English to pri school children. I'm English-trained but for sec sch. However, I don't think it really matters because the basics are still the same. If you do come down to Shanghai, let me know =)
Hey Cyn! Wow! You´re gonna teach english! Are you going to be a mainstream school? How long will you be there? Did you like teach in MOE or smth?
Hi Pris
Yes I taught in a neighbourhood sch in SG for 3.5 yrs. Now I'm going over to Shanghai Singapore Intl Sch (intl sch but uses SG curriculum) for 2 yrs.
You write very well.
