Lovely weekend

I had a pretty fruitful weekend - much better than what I expected. We had Sabrina over for the weekend, since she had her friend´s wedding in Korntal. It was great to have some family time with Sabrina - we had lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. She just came back from a 1-week beach holiday and is so nicely tanned!

Stephan and I finally visited our first-ever Indian restaurant together - Ganesha! I was so happy when Stephan´s friends Volker and Sabine suggested going there. It was the first time Stephan tried Indian food, not including roti prata with sugar but without curry. He tried the Chicken Tikka but couldn´t take the spicyness. **sad** On a positive note, his tolerance of spicyness has definitely increased. He said we can go there again in 3 months. Sob sob! But better than nothing right? I recommended this restaurant to a Jap friend from school and since she´s into Indian food, I think I can go there with her too! Serene was the first person to introduce this restaurant to me (thanks a million), and boy is it good or is it good!

Stephan and I had a nice break over the past 2 weeks too, since we didn´t have any cell (holidays) and we suddenly realized that we had so much more couple time! We managed to do our Wednesday swimming and weekly jogging. The weather is so much like Singapore, still way less humid though, so I´m starting to wear my summer clothes again! Woo-hoo! We´ve been watching lots of DVD, one of them being "As good as it gets" by Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson on Sunday. I can´t believe that I have never watched this show before. It is so awesome! Really celebrates humanity, strongly recommended to watch!

We also did a photo collage, something that I´ve been wanting to do since eternity. It captures snippets of our life in Singapore and German, ok more like snippets of MY life in Sg and a bit in Germany- for now. Its my way of looking back at the lovely memories I have in Singapore and of course to act as a reminder to pray for the people on the photos too.

I´ve been also experimenting with different dishes and making my own variation of tried-and-tested dishes. Quite happy with the results, I must say.

My version of seafood hor fun - with fish, prawns and mushrooms

Lemon chicken - variation with carrots and spring onions

Kong bao chicken - variation with carrots and spring onions too,
plus cantonese dish, tomatoes with eggs

My own invention, chinese veg with corn, fishcake, fish
My verdict: Very healthy and tastes super good too.

Hi Mag! Thanks! =) I went to yr blog too. Yr chilli asparagus looks good! I dunno where I can ge belacan or bird´s eye chilli though. I have this prawn paste at home, but it stinks really badly and I tried it with noodles once and it tasted BAD!

Thanks for having me! :) Was lovely to spend the weekend with you. Just sad that I was so tired from flying back and forth. Would have loved to spend more quality time with you two. But surely that will happen again soon!

Lots of love,
